¡VIVA LA NOCHE!

WORLD FUSION PERFORMANCE ART

What began as a Day of the Dead celebration in 2011 has evolved into something more artistically and culturally diverse. After the death of his Mexican grandparents, Ryan Flores (along with Moonhoney and Smokebrush) set out to honor their legacy and heritage with a Day of the Dead celebration called Noche de los Muertos. In its sixth year, Noche has developed into a highly anticipated and well-attended event. Through collaborating with Moonhoney, Shakti Dance Troupe, Sambrasil, Crystal & the Curious, Edith Makes a Paper chain, The Luddites, Roma Ransom, The Hopeful Heroines, Itchy-O, and many more the show has blossomed into a something quite spectacular and unique. In an effort to bring the show to a wider audience (qua different venues) some of the cast and crew have elected to rename and revamp the event into a variety show with a Latin Gypsy circus at its core.

Within the production Viva La Noche the artist collective Leopard & the Vine brings exotic music and dance to the stage, churning out a high energy and fun performance that draws influences from all over the world. Flamenco, Samba, Odissi, Tango, Calypso, Mariachi, Cabaret, Vaudeville, and jazz mixed with modern circus acts like fire, hoop, live painting, and aerial silk performance are what you are likely to experience when Viva La Noche takes you on an unforgettable tour of the world through culturally rich performance art.
